Transform Your Damaged Teeth with Porcelain Veneers in Arlington

Discolored, chipped, or misaligned teeth can detract from the beauty of your smile and make you feel self-conscious. If your teeth are healthy but have cosmetic imperfections, a dental restoration using high-quality dental veneers may be the treatment for you. Call today to schedule a veneers consultation with one of our experienced dentists in Arlington.

What Are Porcelain Veneers?

Dental veneers are constructed from porcelain or a composite material that resembles natural tooth enamel. Veneers are permanently attached to the tooth to mask minor cosmetic imperfections.

Veneers are appropriate for patients with healthy, structurally sound teeth that have aesthetic flaws, including:

Imperfections in Size and Shape

Minor damage to a tooth, such as a chip, can make you feel less confident in your appearance, especially when facing a big event, such as a wedding or job interview. A veneer is an inconspicuous way to restore the tooth back to its original shape. We can even use veneers to correct the structure of teeth that have been worn down by teeth grinding or that naturally appear too large or small or the incorrect shape for your face.

Discoloration

Age, medications, and the foods and drinks that we consume on a daily basis can leave our teeth looking dingy and yellow. Our dentists use veneers to brighten smiles in situations where normal whitening treatments do not provide the desired results. We can customize your veneers to the exact shade that you want.

Gaps or Misalignment

Veneers can be used to make small adjustments to the alignment or spacing of teeth for patients who don’t want to undergo orthodontic treatment.

Our Arlington dentists can assess your unique dental issues and treatment goals to determine if a veneer restoration is appropriate for you.

Can I Get an Estimate of My Porcelain Veneers Cost?

Your porcelain veneers cost is determined by the number of veneers that you need and the type of veneers used. Composite veneers tend to be the most economical. Veneers made from porcelain are considerably more expensive, but they do last longer and have a more natural appearance. We will discuss your cost and payment options following your initial consultation.

How Are Veneers Different From Porcelain Crowns?

Veneers and crowns are permanent dental restorations that are used to improve the color, shape, or structure of the tooth. Veneers attach to the front surface of the teeth and are suitable for patients with relatively minor cosmetic dental imperfections. Crowns, also known as caps, cover the entire tooth structure. Once in place, a crown can strengthen a tooth that has been damaged by trauma or decay or weakened by a root canal. Crowns are also preferred for molars since they can withstand the tremendous force exerted by the back teeth during chewing. The dentist normally has to remove more of the tooth enamel when applying a crown than with a veneer.

What Can I Expect When Getting Porcelain Veneers?

The porcelain veneers procedure is painless. The dentist will start by making an impression of your teeth to ensure that the veneers porcelain fits properly. Depending on the type of veneer used, the dentist may need to remove a small amount of enamel from the tooth so that the veneer will adhere properly. The veneer is then attached using a special dental cement. Once in place, veneers look, feel, and function just like natural teeth.

Is the Veneer Porcelain Long-lasting?

As long as you don’t use your teeth to bottles or other items and you avoid activities that could cause trauma to your teeth, your veneers should last for decades. You should still brush and floss daily and see your dentist for regular dental checkups.

How Do I Care for My Porcelain Teeth?

You care for veneers in much the same way as natural teeth by brushing and flossing daily. If you play sports or tend to grind or clench your teeth, you should consult your dentist about wearing a custom-fitted mouthguard to protect your veneers. You should also avoid biting into very hard foods, especially if your veneers are on your incisors.
